Three youth members from High Country 4-H club share their stories about attending the 2016 Teen Involvement Conference.
"TIC was really fun! The people were nice, the activities were interesting and fun, and I made some new friends, not to mention the food (which there was a lot of). I can honestly say that I was not even the slightest bit hungry while I was there. There was always something to eat, even for a vegetarian like me.
My favorite part was definitely the dance, though the nature hike was a close second. The music was great. I danced for almost three hours nonstop! And I must commend my friend, Damien, on his surprising dance skills."

Hello my name is Damian Famania, I previously went to the 2015 TIC in Garner Valley. When we got there we had to check in and get our name tags. When we got our name tags we had a color on them. There were four different colors, green, blue, red, and yellow. I was on the green team. After we got our name tags we went to our cabins and unpacked our stuff, then went to the cafeteria for dinner. When dinner was over, all of the camp counselors introduced themselves and showed us where all of the schedule sheets were. The next morning we ate breakfast at the cafeteria and singed up for classes. There was 4 sessions and 2 classes in each session and you get too pick what class you wanted to go to. The class I chose were; mission improvable, how to properly retire a flag, animal science, and we made Para cord bracelets for the military. We had a little bit of free time and then did our 2 classes that we picked, after the 2 classes we had lunch then our 3rd class. When we were done with the 3rd class we played capture the flag with powdered color, it was a lot of fun. Once we were done with capture the flag the counselors put on a movie or we could have our free time and play. That night we had a really cool dance that went on for about 3 hours. The next morning we had our 4th class, and we had a guest speaker come and talk about his experience in 4-H and why 4-H is great to be in. He had a lot of good stories from his childhood about 4-H. the next morning we cleaned out our cabins and put all of our belongings in a room. After we were done cleaning up the cabins we had a little bit of free time then our parents came signed us out and we said bye and left. I met a lot of really cool people from other counties, TIC was really fun and if your thinking about going I suggest you go!
Hi my name is Lyddiah Gorino. I am in High Country 4h club. This is my 6th year being in 4h. I show my goats and my horse and I am also on a couple of other classes.
I went to the TIC camp on January 14 through the 16; it was a lot of fun. I met new people and learned new things. When we arrived each person was assigned to a color team, I was yellow. We played many ice breaker games. One game everyone took as much candy as they wanted, and for each piece of candy we took we had to say one thing about ourselves. A lot of people took a lot of candy! We also did a scavenger hunt, a color run, and many more fun activities.
In between the games we had sessions that we were able to signed up for, I did the Small Animal Class, Livestock in a Bowl, Pigeon Racing and last but not least Animal Science. My favorite one was live stock in a bowl, it was like a TV game show. Whoever answered the question first got one point for their team, my team won.
On Saturday night there was a dance and a night walk, my friends and I went on the night walk, it was very cold. The last day we had a speaker come and talk, he shared a lot of information.
Before we left we had an award ceremony. …… the yellow team won!!! We got little prizes and said goodbye to our team mates. It was a lot of fun to go to the TIC camp! I think more people form our club should go next year.
